First off I hate the class complaint drivers for the Macs so I want to have 'real' drivers.
I have been having trouble with my external hard drives on my Intel Mac mini and my presonus firebox when it is connected together.
I get OSX saying the device (firebox and sometimes the harddrive)has been removed.. I think it doesnt like 2 firewire devices daisy chained together.
So I want to try a USB audio interface and leave the firewire drive on the firewire port by itself. I only record either a single MIC or a stereo input from my external keyboard so there is not alot of load on it.
I dont necessarialy need midi as the external keyboard has it's own USB midi interface which works fine.
What do people recommend with an Intel MacMini.
I have 1.25 gigs of ram in it and want to have a stack of Spectrasonics RMX sage expander files on the external firewire drive.

I’ve use the Edirol: UA25 USB Audio Interface for years on Windows and the Mac. It works very well as an input and output (to my monitors, or other devices); extremely stable, solid and flexible enough to move between Operating Systems. The FireBox is the most powerful 24-bit/96k FireWire recording interface that fits in the palm of your hand. The FireBox is a complete 24-Bit/96k personal recording studio combining two high quality PreSonus microphone/instrument preamplifiers and 24-Bit/96k sample rate.
